Taiwan’s first national-level accelerator dedicated to space startups opened July 31 at NYCU, bringing together research, investment and industry resources in a bid to strengthen the country’s position in the rapidly expanding global space economy.
Established by the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA), the TASA iSPARK Space Innovation Hub is located in the Hsien-Che Building on NYCU’s Boai Campus. The hub will combine NYCU’s research talent, TASA’s technological expertise and the industrial strength of the Hsinchu Science Park to help Taiwanese space startups turn laboratory innovations into commercially viable products and services.
Premier of the Executive Yuan Jung-Tai Cho, Minister of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Cheng-Wen Wu, Director General of the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) Jong-Shinn Wu and representatives from industry marked the official launch by striking ceremonial mallets at the opening event.
